Some snippets from the June Board Meeting.

 

Treasury Items: *All 2016 Trifecta monies have been collected.   *All members with outstanding subs have been contacted and their ongoing membership status discussed. The result four members have resigned due to changed circumstances, one member resigned due to family ill-health. A completion Report, for a Government Grant given in 2013 to purchase the Marquee, is yet to be finalised as we are awaiting the relevant final receipt.
 
Membership: Harold Sharp, our choice as Membership Director, is transferring to RC of Terrigal. The new Board needs to appoint a Membership Director.
 
Foundation: *The Foundation Newsletter from David Rands has been circulated to members.  *The Club has applied for a District Grant to supplement our $3000 support of Taldumande Youth Services.
 
Changeover Dinner: The proceeds from the Poker night and Christmas Carols BBQ are to be presented to representatives of Mary’s House and  Delvina Women’s Refuge at our Changeover Dinner on July 3RD.
 
International: So They Can’s Kenya Project looks to be on track . We have two local Clubs willing to be sponsors; RC of Rift Valley and RC of Hurlingham. Howard is awaiting some final details to complete the Grant Application with Claire.
 
Vocation: The club plans to sponsor a Pride of Workmanship Award Night later in the year. Two neighbouring Clubs have agreed to join us for a combined Dinner.
 
Secretarial: *Still searching for a replacement of Les!  *Unable to gain approval from ACNC to be classified as a “Charity” for tax deductibility status.  *Correspondence was tabled.

 Our Speaker is Greg Rappo.
 
Greg is Program Director with Road Safety Education Ltd based in Sydney. He works closely with Rotary Clubs, major sponsors and government agencies to promote continued growth of the RYDA road safety education program in Australia and New Zealand. 
Greg has a background in sales and marketing that has included a range of senior management positions with multi-national corporations including Chevron, Abbott Laboratories and Sumitomo. He has been an active volunteer with the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) for many years including a role as the Deputy Controller of the Sydney Ku-ring-Gai SES unit with specific responsibility for Media and Community Engagement. Greg has been a member of Rotary for over ten years and is a Past President of the Rotary Club of St. Ives and a Past Assistant in Sydney Rotary District 9685.
