A busy Rotary few days for me – BBQ Saturday , our regular meeting Monday and The Board Meeting Tuesday at Alon’s Office – thank you, Alon.
The BBQ was hectic and we sold out of pretty well everything. BBQ’s from now till Christmas promise to be busy. We have a BBQ in Crows Nest after the Xmas Carols at the Baptist Church on Sunday about 4pm to 7 pm so please volunteer because this will be a fun event. At the Board Meeting, it was decided to set up a BBQ Committee at the AGM to share the load. The BBQ stalwarts Bruce, Bill and Angelo are on the committee together with three others to be elected. Their role will be to replenish the trailer with supplies prior to each BBQ. I envisage that each of them would take on this task for a month at a time. Bill Lee has kindly offered to store our trailer at his facility – this is a real boon because it will allow us uninterrupted access to the trailer. A big thank you, Bill.
Also with the loss of Les W, we need more IT support. The value of that man was immense! So to deal with this change, Mark Staples will head an IT Committee – again to be elected at the AGM.
You should have received a copy of the Annual Financial Statements, prepared by Simon, for the AGM. Prior to the AGM, you will also receive a copy of the latest Constitution and ByLaws adopting changes made by Rotary International. These are for acceptance and ratification by the Club at our AGM. This will bring these items up to date. Directors Reports should be received this week and will be forwarded to members prior to the AGM on 28th November 2016. Please read all these documents, so that you are aware of the details for the AGM.
It looks as though the club will have four RYLA candidates this year; Alon is dealing with this.
Reminder, the President’s Cocktail Party -> Sunday 4 December 2016.
Ian is organising the Giving Night/ Christmas Party on December 12- at the “Malabar ‘ Restaurant, Crows Nest – an evening meeting with BYO.
International news – good news at last for our proposed Kenyan project undertaken with “So They Can” ; looks to be moving forward.
The Poker Night was great fun – well organised Mark – just bad luck that you did not win your own tournament.
Finally, thanks to all those who made contributions to the Rotary Foundation – a positive result
