Yesterday, I was very proud to be a member of Crows Nest Club with the great turn out of members to Paul Ogden’s funeral , which was a very emotional afternoon for his family and friends. Not only present members, but past members as well,in particular with the older, retired members present such as Eric Werth and Bill Crowe, who had been picked up by Angelo and Howard .
Also, Bruce just so happened to have a recording of Paul’s last speech he gave to the club on his life, some years back, which Bruce presented to Paul’s daughter Jan. So in all, a very sad, but a great celebration of the life of Paul Ogden, where his commitment and involvement with Rotary was well acknowledged.
Cheers, Ian

LAST MONDAY'S MEETING.
A Thank You to our Guest Speaker – Chris Joscelyne.
Chris is a radio veteran, having joined 7EX in 1966 as CJ the DJ in Launceston. In 1986 he was appointed general manager of 2CH Sydney. His talk was on the history of radio in Australia. He had the whole room completely spell bound as he related how the first radios were sold with only one station available and this station depended on where you bought your radio. For us this was a trip down memory lane as we remembered growing up with a lot of the things he spoke of. For our younger members it was a fascinating history that most new nothing about. Chris is a very talented speaker and we had the feeling he could have spoken about growing potatoes and made it just as fascinating. However his knowledge and experience in radio made this one of the best speakers we have had. Chris has been a Rotarian since 1973 and currently serves as chairman of marketing for ROMAC. Thank you Chris for a most enjoyable 40 minutes.
Our first evening meeting will be Monday June 6th. Ross Gugliotta to confirm the venue.
