As I write this, winter is rearing its ugly head with the cold and rain. It should not be long before we are into spring and sunshine. After Monday’s meeting at Pino’s I informed the Crows Nest Hotel we will not be meeting there in future.
At our next meeting (29th) Guiseppe will change the menu to another five choices. Our Italian foodies, Angelo and Sue will negotiate with Guiseppe to make the pizzas smaller and the dishes tastier.

On Wednesday, Claire, Angelo, Ian and I met with David Rands to fine tune our draft global grants applications, so that when they are submitted to Rotary for approval, the approval process will be prompt and painless. All praise to Claire, who has borne the brunt of the form filling, that our two draft applications were regarded as worthy and almost complete. Both applications need some tweaking. Hopefully in the next few weeks Claire can confirm some information from Kenya.Angelo, Sue , Ian, Celia and I will deal with the Timor details and red tape during our trip to Timor in September. The aim is to be up and running before the end of the year!
Tonight (Wednesday) – the Board met and a good meeting was had where we covered many topics. Sue has some good ideas for Community Service in Crows Nest – more about that at our next meeting. Tom Sweeney advised that he had completed our Bowel Scan Programme in June. We are closing off our St George Accounts and transferring the funds to our Westpac Accounts. Crows Nest Fair – we have been advised directly that we will not be permitted to run a BBQ. So in a change of pace we plan to offer sell popcorn and dispense Crows Nest Rotary balloons to the children. For the last 6 months membership; only one member has outstanding subs. The plan is to hold a Club Assembly on October 17, to ratify WWC Club Protocol and Club Risk Assessment.

He has a passion for social justice, the environment and strong interest in economics. Justin has worked for UNESCO and discussed his experiences in aid to South East Asia.
