It is that time of the Rotary year when The Rotary Foundation is seeking as much support as each club is able to give to our Rotary Foundation, as project funds are distributed. The following is a letter received from the District Foundation Chair, Rotary District 9685;

It is that time of the Rotary year when we are seeking as much support as each club is able to give to our Rotary Foundation as project funds are distributed.

Our ability to provide grant money to support humanitarian and educational projects around the world and at home is directly dependent on the generosity of clubs and individual Rotarians in giving to our Rotary Foundation.

The Rotary Foundation is an intrinsic part of the Rotary endeavour as it supports Rotary led and managed projects in the most cost effective way possible.  It continuously ranks as one of the top charities in the world for efficiency in delivering our donated dollar to the end beneficiary in Rotary’s name, and is praised for the stringent standards of governance and integrity demonstrated.

I am attaching today's Monthly Contribution Report for your interest which shows your clubs contribution thus far this Rotary year in US dollars.  It is not possible from this report to distinguish between club and personal donations, but the clubs’ giving across the different funds is shown, which “Other” including Polio plus donations, and in a few cases club’s contributions to global grants through the Foundation.

For this year President Ian Riseley has asked for a donation of $US1500 towards polio eradication, and our target for club and personal donations to the Annual Fund, which directly supports our grants program, is $US200 per capita.

Whatever you are able to manage in this last month of the Rotary Year will be very much appreciated and put to very effective use.
