Last Meeting Monday19th October 2020 Edmund McComb presented 'The Lend Lease Foundation' and its activities.
When Dick Dusseldorp and Stuart Hornery set up the Lendlease Foundation in 1983, the objective was to nurture the wellbeing of employees and their families, and support employees involvement in charitable and community affairs. It was a goal ahead of its time and over the years it continues to prove to be something that makes us special.
We partner with approved charities and community bodies in which we have an involvement.
Our global programs create a unified community with a common focus - to use our collective knowledge, skill and passion to enrich the lives of our people and the community. They are planning Net Zero Carbon by 2040 and $250Million in "social value" by 2025.
The Lendlease Foundation has evolved its wellbeing portfolio of programs to address the four pillars of the Lendlease Health and Wellbeing Framework. External partnerships are key to the development delivery of these programs.
Supporting Healthier Minds
Developing Healthier Bodies
Building Healthier Places
Creating Healthier Cultures
Examples of their partnerships include Great Barrier Reef Organisation, Days for Girls & Suicide Prevention for Construction workers.
The Foundation approves Community Grants of upto $10,000, and an application from our Rotary club is welcome.
Application form for external partnerships: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LLexternalpartnerships (however, please note that this is not the current application as it is being reviewed to align with our new Sustainability Targets; however, it will give you an idea about what we look for when it comes to larger partnerships around the world).
Mark Anderson, well known in our District is now living in the Southern Highlands, but once a year he and his son ride Trains. This year, prior to the World Polio Day 2020, on 23rd October 2020. Not your usual ride, but a nigh on impossible ride all within 24 hours. This year on the Sydney network, there are 189 stations, to cover every station within 24 hours last year, took Mark 18 hours, 10 mins. Each year through sponsorship Mark raises over $150,000 for the eradication of Polio.
