PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

Hello, Members and our Rotary Friends receiving this eBulletin.
What a great privilege to Chair my first face to face  Meeting as your new President .
And I'm learning very quickly ,with the need to multitask ,in being the Guest Speaker as well ,talking about my move from Sicily to Australia ,and my various occupations since my arrival .A very varied and diverse career ,from Jeweller's assistant to Pharmacy Assistant to working for a Stockbroker ,and to Restauranteur ,all exceptional prerequisites to being a Rotary Club President .Oh ,and not forgetting my accordion playing in the Band.
We had an excellent attendance today ,which included three members from North Sydney Club attending to see how we operate ,and it was great to have them along to compare notes
In all a great Meeting, so look forward to seeing you all on Zoom next Monday
Our next meeting will be on Monday 18th July on Zoom at 12.30pm.  Click on this Link!

July's theme is Rotary Leadership Month!

This month's theme is "New Leadership Month."  Rotary brings community leaders together who have a common characteristic: the desire to serve.  As leaders we have a responsibility to our community, local and globally, to place service above self to make the world a better place.
July is the start of new Rotary officers' year of service.   Congratulations and all the best to the new Board team!

Our next meeting is on Monday, the 18th July 2022 on Zoom, click on this Link at 12.30pm.

Sue gave the International Toast to the Rotary Club of Tokyo
Not a cheap Club ,at USD50/head ,just to get in the door .Then there's meals and drinks on top of that
But a very active Club in their area none the less
George is working hard to get some involvement in Muna, and he appears to have some interest, without any committment at this stage, from Linfield High School.Watch this space
Angelo is busy on the Trifecta Tickets, having despatched 6 sets already, with some Clubs setting the price at $5/ticket.Way to go!!
Meanwhile Timor L'este continues to get good backing from Woodside for their various projects
Also Teachers On Wheels(involving Anthony's brother)looking at Trades Courses ,which are Australian Accredited ,which would be extremely helpful to the people of Timor.
Finally from Angelo, for our first evening Meeting,Partners Night,in a fortnight he has arranged for an Entertainer as our Guest Speaker,so watch this space.
Our three Special Guests from North Sydney Club,Geoff Prichard,President,Denis Booth and Ross Waugh, had a most interesting exchange on current Club challenges, most of which always comes back to Membership.also interesting that most of their fundraising is based on the spaces they rent to individual sellers for the monthly Crows Nest fair on the third Saturday of every month.
Bill advises that we have a new Foundation Centurion in President Ross .Congratulations Ross
Also Bill will be attending the Chatswood International Club's Changeover at $88/head .Bill is hoping to introduce them to the $5 Trifecta Tickets.
Sue has received a note of thanks from Taldumande for our Club's support for the Felicity Wilson Grant.
Reminder that the Crows Nest Fair, for the 16th of October, will cost us $145 being a charity(normal cost is $400).As the nearby shopkeepers have priority over food type, only if there's a free space will we be able to run the sausage sizzle.Ross is trying hard to get a spot close to Bravos.
Howard has up-dated the BBQ roster, the next one being on the 30th of July,so please check the schedule opposite.

News:
- Sue has submitted a District Grant request for a Mary's house project.
