PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

Hello, Members and our Rotary Friends receiving this eBulletin.

Last Thursday a few of our members visited ‘Taldumande Youth Services’ and we sat down with their representatives and discussed what past help we have given them and what future needs and wants they have.  As a group of Rotarians, we always split our attentions between organisations in our local area who need assistance, and other overseas projects.

Please make a note in your diaries;
On Saturday 14th May we have a very special early evening event, ie 5.30pm start, our ‘Rotary Fellowship Dinner’, hosted by Bill and Lydia at Storage Works, Artarmon.  Everyone is invited, please let our Secretary know for catering purposes, see flyer below.
Please don’t forget,
On Monday 27th June we have our Presidential Changeover Dinner from 6.30pm, and coupled with a presentation of ‘Pride of Workmanship Awards.   Everyone is invited, please let our Secretary know for catering purposes, see flyer below.
Our next meeting will be face to face, at the Union Hotel Nth Sydney on Monday 16th May at 12.30pm.
Come join us!  The food at the Union is great!

Stay safe, be careful, wear your mask!

Today, our member Angelo briefed us on his trip to East Timor.

The highlight was a two-hour meeting with past & incoming President Jose Ramos Horte. The planned 15 min meeting went overtime with the president very supportive of the Rotary projects being done in his country.

Angelo continues to oversee the Rotary’s RYLA project which continues to blossom and now has a full-time secretary & office. RYLA is raising over $5000 per month thru projects like Chicken & Fish farms.

Angelo also attended a committee meeting which co-ordinates the 1200 volunteers & their projects in East Timor. Angelo made time to visit local Rotary clubs, including the ROMAC representative.  He intends to revisit in October

Angelo – Thank you for your ongoing work in East Timor.
