PRESIDENT'S COLUMN
My Fellow Crows Nest Rotarians and friends,

I have always said that the Members of our Club are a very interesting and diverse group of like-minded individuals.
Our Guest Speaker was not able to make today’s Meeting so we asked prospective new Member Anthony to give us a This is my Life story. Anthony was born in Bangalore, his father was in the army. Anthony is a legal assistant.
We also heard Marian’s This is my Life’s story. Coincidentally, Marian was born in Bangalore and her father was also in the army in the Medical Corp. Marian told us of accompanying her father on a final trip to Bangalore, a trip down memory lane for her Dad.
Finally, We asked Ross for his This is my Life story.  Ross was born in Sicily and settled in Australia. Ross told us about his work and also his view of What makes a great coffee. We all agreed that Australians are the best coffee makers in the world. I totally agree as I often return from overseas looking forward to returning to a decent cup of coffee.
Our 50th Anniversary is fast approaching so please RSVP to Kate and prepay if you are coming.
Please note we will not be accepting payment on the night.
Congratulations Joy Sweeney on directing the very funny play Caravan. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and recommend it as a must see.
Our very special Guest Speaker next Monday is our very own Rotarian, Keri, from So they Can.
Keri will update us on her recent trip to Kenya and the work she is doing there on the prospective Global Grant.
I hope to see you there.

ROTARY: BE THE INSPIRATION

Next Meeting Monday - 15th of April 2019 - Keri Chittenden,Co-Founder of So They Can

Keri will give us all an up-date following her recent visit to East Pokot in Kenya to visit the site of the proposed Global Grant we have been slowly, but surely working on over the last three years. The Global Grant is almost completed now, much due to the excellent support from the Nakuru Rotary Club of Kenya and their contractors which Keri will cover.

Last Monday's Meeting, the 8th of April - our Speakers were Anthony, Marion and Ross

Unfortunately, our Guest Speaker was a last minute cancellation, so we heard background life stories, from potential new member Anthony, new member Marion, who by coincidence both have Indian backgrounds, originating from the same southern Indian town in Bangalore.
In addition, Ross told us of his Sicilian roots, moving to Australia, meeting his wife to be on the boat, having various jobs before becoming involved in the hospitality industry
