PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

Hi everyone
The queen of Crows Nest i.e. Denise Ward, manager of the Crows Nest Community Centre was our special guest on Monday and even though she was to give a talk on Dementia - we were enthralled by the amazing range and diversity of the services emanating from this vibrant centre of our community.
From services to the elderly in their homes, to meals on wheels, to meals for the homeless , to helping diverse language groups new to the area, to students preparing CV's, to entertainment and special events, to ... and the list goes on.    A HUGE congratulations to Denise and her Team at the Centre.   Surrounding Rotary Clubs like North Sydney Sunrise also support the Centre and Crows Nest will continue to support this vial hub within our community.
The talk on Dementia will be postponed till Angelo and Sue return ( not because they need it but because Sue is so involved with the D-Cafe).
We unveiled the new look BBQ roster with still a few gaps to confirm and then we're off and running with four teams of 5/6 per shift.
Don't forget to register for the DISRICT CONFERENCE in March in Terrigal.  Only the Saturday sessions have vacancies.   Refer to District web site to book.
We also met JoEllen from the Crows Nest Main Street Committee - they stage the excellent Crows Nest Fair.   Perhaps another new member??   A delightful lady and a talented Graphic Artist.
That's all for now.   Yours in Rotary
TOM.
