PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

Hi everyone,

"There is always two sides to every story"

This theme was the basis of the talk given by our guest speaker last Monday evening, Denis Moore. A former officer in the Australian Army and expert on the Gallipoli campaign of WW1.

He spoke of the proud history of the Otterman empire and the involvement of the Turkish nation in the defence of the Dardanelles and the bloody conflict with the ANZAC'S as well as the UK, Irish and Indian troops.

What an interesting talk, full of facts, maps, and explanations that gave all 22 of us (Yes 22 attended last Monday - a record for Crows Nest.).
We had many partners and guests including our DG Jenny May as well as a surprise visit from Bruce & Jo de Graaf.  We also welcomed Vince, Cheryl and one of our BBQ buddies, Gloria and her son Matthew.  We had a full house!

Dennis Moore was a wonderful guest speaker and his subject BEFORE DURING AND AFTER Gallipoli was welcomed by all.
We look forward to the return of our world travellers Sue and Angelo in early April and a return to our Bunnings BBQ in April.

Best wishes to all,
President Tom
