PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

Hello, Members and our Rotary Friends receiving this eBulletin.
 

Last Monday It was with great sadness we toasted the passing of PP Peter Coote.  Peter had been a long-time member & supporter of the club.

He was president of club in the 2016-17 year as well as being on the board for many years. We will miss him, and send our condolences to (PP)Celia and the family.  We look forward to celebrating his life at his memorial service on December 19th. .    

This Sunday(16th) we have the Crows Nest fair. Leah has organised a Rotary Stall, and I hope you can all pop in and say hello at some stage during the day.

Finally, a reminder that we will be the guests of the Rotary Club of North Sydney next Thursday 20th. Meeting is at North Sydney Leagues at 12.15 for 12.30pm start. Numbers are required, so please let Secretary Mark know if you are coming.  With a potential merger I look forward to understand their key projects and activities.

​​​​​​Last Monday's Meeting on the 10th of October.   
 
No speaker, but we continued our discussions about the request from North Sydney Rotary to merge. 
Angelo, Mark & Bill will met their sub-committee next Monday, and ALL members are invited to their club meeting on Thursday 20th of October.
An idea opportunity to get to understand their club.  Please RSVP to secretary Mark if you intend to attend. 
 
2nd discussion evolved around this Sunday's Crows Nest fair. Leah has done an excellent job pulling it together. 
A roster, to look after the stall, was completed and hopefully many members will come along and support the stall. 
 
Thirdly we had a record profit of over $2100 for the BBQ. Next BBQ is December 3rd.  Ian is still negotiating the slots for 2023. 
 
We also talked about Phoenix House holding a Corporate Breakfast on the 15th of November. We have committed to 20 seats and are looking for appropriate guests to invite. Our own Tom Sweeney will be MC, with fellow member Michael McQueen will be keynote speaker.

- DG looking for expressions of Interest for District positions  
- Membership Nomination form has been received from Sam Stringer. Board to confirm next week. 
- Rotary International has a members survey. Those interested have until Nov 4th to complete.  
- Andre announced a Rotary Dinner, Nepal theme  on Wednesday November 16th for Heartland school in Katmandu.
