Hope you all had a relaxing Queen’s Birthday weekend, and just a reminder to check the BBQ roster for this week to see if you’re on duty. (Click on the Roster on the right.)
Also, only 10 days to our Changeover and Pride of Workmanship Dinner so I know we will all ‘get on board’ and make it a great evening!
Last but not least, next Monday, the 21st, we’re back with a face to face Meeting at the Union Hotel, with a very interesting Guest Speaker, Mr Alex Bowler. But you must come along to hear all about ‘Bunnings’ and how it works.
And a quote from our DG, David Clark, "Most of us would say that we joined Rotary because we wanted to give back to, as well as become more connected, with our communities. When we became members, we found that not only did we have the first two opportunities, but we also developed or improved a range of new skills, developed as people, had exposure to, and hands-on involvement, with inspiring projects both locally and overseas, met new people and built incredible friendships. Outside of our immediate clubs, there is a larger organisation that also gives us new learning experiences and opportunities to expand our horizons. Conferences and Assemblies allow us to hear exceptional speakers from so many different walks of life, offering us a broader view, and expand our thinking. As a result of all these benefits, we as individuals become fully engaged in life, satisfying a basic human need of connecting with others whilst feeling productive and valued".
It is this last point that I feel we all need to be mindful of with fellow club members.
Next Meeting is Monday 21st June at 12.30pm, Face to Face at the Union Hotel, cnr West St and Pacific Highway. Our Speaker will be Mr Alex Bowler, who works for Bunnings and is going to tell you 'what you always wanted to know!'
We still are continuing to rotate every 2nd week between Zoom & Union Hotel so our meeting on 21st June will be Face to Face at the Union Hotel, cnr of West St and Pacific Highway at 12.30pm
Our last meeting was held on 7th June 2021 when our speaker was Paul Rogers, our District Officer, who explained all about recent changes to the 'Working With Children' legislation and reminded us about Ethics and Ethical behaviour.
In “Ethics Matter – Rotary”, we must examine collective & individual decision making and seek to determine what are worthy human actions and why.
An aspiration of every Rotarian must be based on an ideal of honourable service.
Rotary, has a series of published Modules on the District 9685 FB – Web Page which cover: scenarios, Role plays, research, principles of professional responsibility, relations with others.
