Last Meeting - Monday 19th of February - Rotary Regionalisation
Toast:
President Tom took us thru the Rotary regionalisation program. Rather than districts we will have regional 'groups'. Our group has 12 clubs being Chatswood-Roseville, Chatswood International, Eastwood-Gladesville, Mosman, Hunters Hill, Lane Cove, Northbridge, North Ryde, North Sydney Sunrise & Macquarie Park.
Idea is more stream lining & effectiveness, with the expectation of more interclub interaction. It does have the quality to bring 12 neighbouring Clubs to work better together and share like projects and assist others where necessary - thus achieving a more global view of ROTARY in action.
Tom also took us thru the details of the District Conference. Over 470 Rotarians have registered already. The list of very interesting speakers, for Saturday 16th, is available, from Tom, on request.
The conference will start on Fri 15th March with a 2.30pm walk along Terrigal beach to say NO to Domestic Violence. It is not too late to register for the main Saturday session.
An update on Polio reported 457 cases in 2023, down from 914. Over 400 million children have been vaccinated.
