PRESIDENT'S COLUMN

Hi everyone,

Last Monday at the hotel we had a delightful meeting with ' special guest' Catherine Heeney as our Rotarian new chum interviewee. Over the years we have probed into the life of our newer members so we can know a little more about them. Catherine revealed that she doesn't drive, prefers blue as her favourite colour, puts her left shoe on first and best sporting achievement is marathon running! Oh! and she prefers a window seat in a plane. There was so much more to Catherine but you can ask her yourself.

Bunnings BBQ was also a hot topic. George had a list of items that need improving from last Saturday's BBQ. Bin liners, napkins, onions, and drinks. All good points we can adjust next time around.

NEXT MONDAY'S MEETING is a night at the Hotel, 6.30pm for 7.00pm start. Our special guest speaker is Brigette Heeney (Catherine's daughter) who has recently been to RYLA and had the most fantastic time and experience. Come along and hear Brigette tell of her experience.

DISRICT CONFERENCE - March 16^th Erina. Bookings still open for this day session at the EV Church conference centre. Go to District website to book. We have 7 members so far attending, would love to make it 10! A great way to get your Rotary fix!

Brigette Heeney was our sponsored attendee at last month's Rotary Youth Leadership Awards(RYLA).

Brigette will share her experiences, and give us an insight into how RYLA is an important Rotary activity for the young.

President Tom "interviewed" our latest member (Catherine). He extracted her aspirations, achievements, history & likes.

Attendees got a positive insight to our newest member who is already contributing to the club.

George lead a detailed discussion on potential BBQ improvements. He will assist Mark offline to update the BBQ guidelines.

- No-one to assist Mary's House with Gardening. George will chase up giving financial assistance.
