Hello, Members and our Rotary Friends receiving this eBulletin.
A very successful meeting this week. It was great to see partners and 5 potential members , as well as Geoff, President of North Sydney Rotary join us.
I also had the honour of inducting our latest member, Sam Stringer. I'm sure you will all join me in making Sam welcome to the club.

I'm also hoping to finalise this week, a date for our annual Giving night & Xmas Party. Past President Philip has proposed we have the function on Monday 28th of November.
Finally a big Thank You to Angelo for organising the Melbourne Cup Trifecta. I believe we have raised over $7000 this year. At the time of publication the prize of $1000 has yet to be claimed - please check your tickets.

International Toast: Ian toasted the Rotary Club of London.
We had the pleasure of Rafaele Joudry talk about "How to Wake Up your Ear and Brain Vitality with Sound Therapy". Rafaele is an author, international keynote speaker and founder of Sound Therapy International & since her mother couldn't hear Rafaele has dedicated her life to helping people overcome auditory problems and enhance their lives through better ear and brain health.
Rafaele took us thru how the ear's health relates to our well being, including a self assessment test. This test highlighted whether we had a hearing, stress of language/memory issue or are in good shape. Note that 30% of people have a problem hearing in a noisy group & machine noise damages the nervous system, while there is an average 8 year delay before seeking help. Also DON'T put a mobile phone to your ear.
We can heal the nervous system thru Sound Therapy which exercises the ear muscles prolong exposure to sounds like classical music. Rafaele pioneered the first portable Sound Therapy program in Australia in 1989, enabling individuals to improve ear function and brain integration, relieve tinnitus, and enhance hearing, learning and brain performance.
We thanked Rafaele for her very informative presentation.
Potential Merger - Internal club discussion scheduled for Nov 21st. North Sydney club will visit us on November 7th.
